Greywater System Maintenance

Most greywater systems require maintenance to maintain the systems proper operation. Some systems require weekly attention, some monthly and some every six months, some require a variation of all of these. Once a grey water system is installed much of the mainanence can be easily managed by the occupant of the premises such as cleaning of filters. Other tanks may still be able to be managed by the occupant however many people do not wish to be as hands-on in the upkeep of their system for more complex tasks.

Greywater System Maintenance Safety

When conducting maintenance we suggest letting the professionals handle it however if you wish to do your own maintenance assure the following:

  • Do not drink
  • Wear rubber gloves and protective clothing to avoid direct contact with the skin
  • Ensure cuts and sores are adequately protected by a waterproof dressing
  • Ensure any exposed body part which comes into contact with grey water is adequately washed
  • Do not make contact with mouth or face after or while working without washing
  • Do not eat without sanitising

Greywater 6-Star Maintenance (Recommended)

Every 3 Months we notify you via text message that we are scheduling a maintenance visit

  • We visit your site
  • Clean and Replace the Filters
  • Desludge the System
  • Perform a total flush of system and irrigation
  • Test pump and mechanical operation
  • Check tank for mosquito breeding and treat if required
  • Assure water levels in the yard and rain levels are correct and the system is correct
  • Test PH Levels of the garden
  • Provide advice so over watering does not occur by advising the occupant of the premises
  • We do accurate assessment to avoid water volume exceeding to the set limit within your premises

Greywater 5-Star Maintenance

Every 3 or 6 Months we notify you via text message we’re scheduling a maintenance visit

  • Desludge the System
  • Perform a total flush of system and irrigation
  • Test pump and mechanical operation
